Stockholm, Sweden – October 23, 2001 – Tele2 AB (SX: TEL2-B, NASDAQ: TLTOA/B), the leading alternative pan-European telecommunications company, continues its build-out of a Scandinavian media network and place an order for networking equipment from Net Insight (SX: NETI B), a leading provider of real-time broadband infrastructure technology.
The order includes equipment for expansion of networking services to Swedish broadcaster TV 4, as well as a planned build-out to connect new customers.
The TV 4 network, currently connecting main and subsidiary studios in Stockholm with TV 4’s local station in Göteborg, is expanded to also connect Köpenhamn, Malmö and Sundsvall. Tele2 also begins the build-out to new customers and recording sites with need for video transport services.

The order for equipment is the second purchase based on the earlier signed skeleton agreement between Tele2 and Net Insight.
Short about media networks
With Net Insight’s platform Nimbra, it is possible to send data and video signals in real-time over fiber networks. Compressed as IP traffic or as uncompressed 270 Mbps video signal. This enables film and TV companies to digitize their entire production process, all the way from camera to the point of distribution. The technology reserves the capacity needed for the bit rate of each service throughout the network. Thereby it is possible to guarantee 100 percent Quality of Service also for all types of streaming media.
